What is the show about?
“In the beginning of life on the planet, all of it developed in the sea. But the time came when the waters were so populated that some species began to try to live on the land. But they had a dilemma. They could not go very far in-land because they always had to return to procreate in water. How did they solve the problem? The females developed an ocean in the wombs, this being able to birth anywhere!”*
The place and contribution of females to the evolution of all species - including ours - has largely remained invisible and devalued to this day. “The Labrynth of the Butterflies” is a theatre show that weaves together a thread of invisibles contributions of women throughout universal history.
Women form Asia, Africa, Europe, the United States and Latin America and the Caribbean. Women of past and present times. Of different ages, ethnicities and experiences.
)
In the show, these women come back to weave a vision regarding the challenges that we have as humans in the planet today if we are to survive our present destructive trends.
